Rick Nichols, DDS

A dedicated and caring dentist, Dr. Nichols creates a warm bond with his patients that goes beyond taking care of their oral needs. He always enjoys encounters outside the office, whether at Wal-mart or a Razorback game, with long term patients and looks foward to creating new long term relationships with new families as they come to the Smile Center for dental care. The opportunity he has to change a person’s life for the better by helping them change their smile, relieve their pain, or educate them about proper oral care gives him the most reward as he sees how it brings each patient more confidence and a better quality of life.

Education and Experience

Dr. Nichols is a graduate of the University of Nebraska, receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1985 where he was awarded the "Most Outstanding Senior Dental Student". Before dental school he earned a  Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Northern State College in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He also completed a one-year residency in Advanced Dentistry at Humana Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky in 1986. He is a  member of the American Dental Association, the Arkansas State Dental Association, and the Northwest District Dental Association. He has been practicing dentistry in Springdale since 1986 and feels truly blessed to be part of the great staff at Smile Center.

Outside the Office

A native of Aberdeen, South Dakota, Dr. Nichols now happily resides in Northwest Arkansas with his wife Cindy and has two children. His son, Corey is a fellow dentist at the Smile Center and his daughter, Stephanie is a photographer in Ft. Worth, TX. Being an empty-nester now, he and his wife love to spoil their two rescue dogs! In the past Dr. Nichols was an avid golfer, but now enjoys his free time camping in their fifth wheel, fishing, hunting, and following the Razorbacks, in fact he was the Razorbacks football sideline ball boy for 22 years. He was formerly the Dental Health Chairman in the Kiwanis Club for many years and is a passionate member of Calvary Chapel in Rogers. One thing many people don’t know about Dr. Nichols: he loves operating a bulldozer!
